A heat pump is an air conditioner that runs both ways. In summer it moves heat out of the house, and in winter it moves heat in from the outside air. There is enough heat in the outside air to do that through most of a Port Moody winter. A home without ducts needs a ductless mini-split, which is a different kind of installation from the central systems on this page.
