Almost every West Vancouver fireplace we replace is one of two jobs. Yes. Replacing a gas appliance requires a gas permit and inspection through Technical Safety BC, and the District of West Vancouver requires mechanical permits to be taken out by a qualified contractor rather than the homeowner. We handle the permit as part of the installation. In a strata the permit and the strata's written approval are separate. Both are needed, and the strata approval comes first.
Most inserts are done in a day, with the old unit out in the morning and the new one fired and adjusted by the afternoon. A log set replacement takes a few hours. Apartment installations are scheduled around the strata's building hours, and the work itself fits in one visit. Once the quote is approved and the unit is ordered, we book the install date with you.
